Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS)

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is a Montessori-inspired faith formation program for children ages 3–5. Classes meet on Sundays after the Divine Liturgy and Wednesdays from 5:30–6:30 p.m. Parent and child orientation is required before enrollment.

Orthodox Christians for Life (OCLife)

The Orthodox Christians for Life (OCLife) is our parish pro-life ministry. We partner regularly with our local pregnancy resource center to attend their events, collect items to donate to their baby boutique and to equip the Orthodox Christian community to strengthen its commitment to the sacredness of human life from conception to death, illuminating the Church’s teaching on life issues through education and engagement.

Our OCLife ministry also leads the charge of supporting expecting mothers and their families in our parish. We celebrate each mother with a baby shower at Fellowship Hour before their due date, and we coordinate a meal train for their family after they give birth as well.

Service Opportunities

Please connect with Brie (Mary) about how to get involved with service opportunities at our parish!

Altar Server

Sacred Space Care

Help put out candles after church services, keep sand clean by removing candle drips and spent candle nubs, clean fallen sand from candle counter and floor, clean glass coverings over icons and remove smudges left by people reverencing the icons.

Chanter/Choir

Chant liturgical hymnody during church services following tradition and convention. Choir members sing hymnody under the direction of the choir leader during Liturgy, weddings and funerals.

Prosphora Baker

Bake prosphora, the bread used for communion. Make sure prosphora is delivered for Liturgy in a timely manner. Training is needed to properly and prayerfully bake the prosphora.

Usher/Greeter

Greet people as they enter the church for Liturgy, pass out Sunday bulletins, help direct the movement of people for communion, processions and blessing lines, help keep order and propriety during services, assist people in need.

Beautification

Assist in acquiring and arranging flowers and other items in the temple for major feasts and other times as needed to beautify the temple and adorn icons.

Fellowship Hour Teams

The fellowship hour, or coffee hour, in Orthodox churches is an important part of our Sundays and happens every week immediately following the Divine Liturgy. It’s a time where we get to build community, practice Christian hospitality, and strengthen relationships within our church family.

In the Orthodox Church, the Fellowship Hour Teams work together to host Fellowship Hour for their assigned day approximately 5 to 6 times per year. Many hands make light work, and working together to host fellowship hour is a beautiful labor of love for our parish community.
