Dn. Nicholas is a convert to Orthodoxy. He has served as the Deacon at St Paul since February of 2018 and previously served as the Deacon at Holy Ascension Antiochian Orthodox Church in West Chester, PA. He also serves on the board of the Antiochian Heritage Foundation of the Antiochian Orthodox Archdiocese of North America.
In his professional life, Dn. Nicholas is the Senior Vice President of the Moving Picture Institute which has a mission to promote the ideas of human freedom and flourishing through film. Most recently he was the Executive Vice President of the Intercollegiate Studies Institute and previously was a Director at the Heritage Foundation and Congressional Press Secretary in Washington, DC where he also served as a Subdeacon at Sts. Peter and Paul Antiochian Orthodox Church.
Dn. Nicholas holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana Wesleyan University in Political Science/Pre-Law with a minor in Mathematics. He also holds a Graduate Certificate of Management from Georgetown University and a Graduate Certificate in Orthodox Theology from the Antiochian House of Studies.
He and his wife, Elizabeth, have been married for 17 years. They live in Naples with their five children: Susan, Lucy, MaryLou, Jule and Azin.
